BMS Graphics & Web Design  Certificate

 

This BMS certificate covers all the basic concepts and activities associated with computer graphics. It includes creating images from scratch, manipulating existing images, animation, graphics for printing or web sites, colour models and graphics filetypes (jpeg, gif, etc). There are also elements of digital photography. A variety of software is used, including Adobe Photoshop. You will learn html -the basic language of web pages and also experience javascript and other languages. You will also create fully functional, operational web sites which will include such elements as text, images, tables, navigation menus, scrolling text, hyperlinks, animated graphics, slideshows, galleries, sounds, movies and downloads.
On completion of this course, you will have the necessary skills to undertake further study in the areas of graphics or web site development, leading to diplomas and degrees.

Four Unit Standards are included in the course:

5939: Produce computer graphics using base functions.

5956: Create images using a computer.

15167: Create individual web pages as a basis of a website.

15169: Develop and publish an operational website.

 This course leads to a BMS certificate.
