 Available at the Blenheim school, this course gives you a broad range of skills for those interested in working in the Tourism industry. There is a strong focus on New Zealand as a travel destination; the course includes work placements and day visits to tourist attractions.
This qualification is changing considerably in 2010 as ATTTO update their course structure and framework. Please contact the  Blenheim School for details.

 

 The certificate comprises these unit standards:

 

Provide customer service for international visitors.

Communicate with people from other cultures.

Demonstrate knowledge of tourism as an economic, socio-cultural and physical process.

Explore career options relevant to an area of learning and explore their implications.

Demonstrate knowledge of NZ as a tourist destination.

Work in a team in a tourism and travel situation.

Provide information about specified regions in NZ.

Demonstrate knowledge of a computer application.

Identify work roles in tourism and travel and their related personal and professional requirements.

Read and write in English for the tourism and travel industry.

Communicate with one person in English for the tourism and travel industry.

Demonstrate knowledge of world geography outside NZ.

Demonstrate knowledge of tourist destinations within NZ.

Perform Calculations for the tourism and travel industry.
