This national certificate is designed to recognise a base level core of computing skills for any industry that requires such skills. To provide a first qualification in computing for learners studying any field or domain. And recognise an entry level for further education in computing.
The national certificate comprises the following Unit Standards:

Operate and Maintain a PC
Manage Computer Data
Create a simple spreadsheet to solve a problem
Create a simple database to solve a problem
Create a desktop published document to meet a set brief
Use and maintain computer peripherals
Integrate spreadsheet and database data into a word-processed document to solve a problem.
Produce a presentation using desktop presentation software
Exchange messages using electronic mail
Exchange information using an online computer service
